working outside

Monday we got up a bit later and dressed to go walk. We expected it to be a bit colder than it was. We were still a bit tired from walking last evening, so we didn’t try to walk fast. We normally try to increase the speed a bit each day. We finished and went to Wal-Mart to get my medicine. The Texas doctor’s office had called the prescription in on Saturday. We decided it was too near lunch time to eat breakfast, so I just worked on small things while Evelyn made hot turkey sandwiches for lunch. I then showered and we both lay down to rest. We then went outside to work. Evelyn chopped off the dead parts of our monkey grass lining the walk while I tried to reconstruct the “well” we had brought from Weslaco. It is old and the bottom is rotted. I should have mostly rebuilt it but just added one piece of wood to the bottom and renailed the roof. We carried it to the fern I had placed on Saturday. It is in the mulch and proudly proclaims our street to be “Boilermaker Boulevard”. We came in for pancakes and some of the spicey sausage given to us by David, the young man who works security at the hospital in Texas. Evelyn made the pancakes from Bisquick and the syrup from scratch. We then happened to notice the Cubs were on Monday night baseball and were able to watch it. The Cubs won again. Could it be that...? I registered us for the LLL convention July 24 in Lexington. Tom and Janet will be there but we can’t stay in the same hotel. They are in the Hyatt, we are in the Radisson. We went to bed to watch the news and Jay Leno’s Headlines. We still haven’t heard from Stacy or Tom about what date we have tickets for Olivia’s play. We hope to hear by Wednesday.
