trouble in the neighborhood
We really slept late this morning because the Presbyterian church didn’t begin until 11. We went and were blessed by a great message about God’s never abandoning us. It was based on II Samuel 12:15-31. If it weren’t for being in the choir at OSLC, I think we would worship there. We came home and Evelyn made rice and added it to the turkey “gumbo” she had made last night. It was really delicious. I asked the last couple I could think of to go to Mars Hill College to hear Rhonda Vincent but couldn’t get anyone to go so we went to the concert led by our choir director, Rosalind. It was composed of older women but was very enjoyable. We saw many people from OSLC and then came home to watch the Cubs beat the Pirates before going to walk around the lake. We made a little better time than previously so we must be getting in better shape. We came home and had our popcorn as usual on Sunday. Frieda, our association president, came to tell us of an emergency meeting to be held Wednesday. Our lawn care person has quit. Some of the other members here have complained too much, and he was finally fed up. He said he didn’t need this trouble. We need to get a new service. She also asked if we could get something together for our by laws (we are on the committee) before Wednesday so we went to the other two homeowners and agreed to meet at our house on Tuesday at 1. We have to have an attorney prepare the new laws to make things binding. I am somewhat disgusted with the in fighting that has been going on. People make things much harder than they need to be. We Came home and watched “Walk the Line”, the story of Johnny Cash and June Carter while I recorded a program called “Cubs Forever”, about the Cubs since they have been on WGN TV. It has been 50 years. We are able to watch different things while in NC because we have two television sets.
