Blessed rain and recovery
Evelyn slept pretty solidly last night and didn’t waken until around 8:30. There was a wonderful rain so we weren’t going anywhere anyway. I called the church to ask some questions and then fixed her some rolled oats for her breakfast. She ate about half a bowl so we have breakfast for tomorrow morning ready. She stayed up for an hour or so and returned to bed until noon. We ate some of the second dinner from Sunday for lunch. She ate a bit of the barbecued chicken and some French fries. She kept everything down all day. She stayed up most of the afternoon, singing praises to God for the all day rain. I checked the neighbor’s gauge and found we had received 2 inches since yesterday morning. It rained the rest of the day and most of the evening so I am sure we have more. It is supposed to rain all day tomorrow too. This area certainly needs this and more especially the steady soaking rain that this is. Evelyn stayed awake most of the afternoon and evening. Our neighbor had come over to show me how to get some of the seeds out of some blackberries we have, so Evelyn made a cobbler in the evening. The Cubs were playing on TV so I just did the dishes. I also warmed up the leftover quiche for our supper. We can finally see some of the shelves in the refrigerator. A couple of women from church called offering to help but we are doing fine. It was still raining when we went to bed and no one is complaining.
