Labor Day Shindig
For some reason the alarm sounded this morning at 6. I have been trying to get it to work for a week or more. I don’t know why it worked today. Tom and I went to the men’s breakfast of biscuits and gravy. We were blessed by the discussion of one of the chapters in the book, “Dying to Live”. We went to the pharmacy and learned that Tylenol is hard on the liver. Vycadin has some acetemetaphyn in it but not enough to hurt or cause addiction. I bought Evelyn some sleep aid recommended by the pharmacist. We came home in time to talk before Evelyn and Stacy took Olivia to her birthday horse lesson. While they were gone, I heated the grills and began cooking the burgers, hot dogs and bratwurst. I also decided to cook the pork loin we had bought this past week. They returned and we ate. Afterward we mostly lay around until 5. We then packed the car and left for Asheville. I stopped at Taco Bell and was blessed in that they were kind enough to give me some crushed ice for our cooler. We went to the final Shindig on the Green for the season. We had our roll up table and four chairs plus a couple of blankets for the kids. We also took wine, beer, and sodas. We bought barbecue sandwiches for supper. We had taken Beethoven, their dog which had a great time. So did Olivia who circulated playing with the other dogs that had been brought. We stayed only 2 hours and then came home. We enjoyed it (we joined in the big round dance) and hope the Georges did too. We came home and went to bed a bit early. I had napped for about 3 minutes this afternoon and was tired.
