Labor Day visitors

We went to town after breakfast. Before breakfast, I had mixed our sausage and venison to use making burgers for tomorrow’s lunch with the Georges. When Evelyn got up later we worked on cleaning the deck by sweeping cobwebs and spraying the hose to wash the deck. We went to the Grocery Outlet for some supplies including buns for sandwiches tomorrow. We also picked up my shoes from the cobbler and went to the hospital. I had dressed for work before we went to town. I just had her drop me off and she went home (after I had brought a frozen yogurt to her). I had forgotten that she was not supposed to drive for 5 days and this was only the 4th. The afternoon was slow for me especially since I had forgotten to take my book. Evelyn came to get me 15 minutes late. and we paid our water bill on the way home. We had potato soup brought by our church friend and then walked to the Rogers to visit. We went to get a modicum of exercise because Stacy had called and said they wouldn’t be here until 8:30. We had a nice visit with Jim and Kathy and then another with Tom and Stacy. We are always glad when they come in light of all the things they have to bring. We remember when we had to take our girls to Geneva, Berne, and Portland to visit our parents. We didn’t take as much but didn’t own as much then either. We went to bed after the news. We pray for the couple on the Marriage Encounter weekend and those in danger from hurricane Gustov in Louisiana and Texas.
