Welcomed visitors

We were up to greet at church. This is our job for the 3 Sundays we will be here in October. It was a cool pleasant morning, warm in the sun. We also had to go to the basement to practice with the choir. We almost always sing during the offering and were accompanies by a clarinetist this morning. After church we took our meat we will make sauerbraten of for next week’s German dinner. We also stopped at the grocery to get some spices for the meat. We have to marinate it for a couple of days before cooking it. We came home for lunch in the sun on our deck. Evelyn went to rest while I did the dishes and settled in to watch some football. About 3:00 Miz and Pauline called saying they were at exit 24. We didn’t expect them until at least 4 and more likely 5. I went to the corner to flag them down but they whizzed by, missing the turn. I called them and they returned to take me home. We had a very pleasant visit, walked around our loop once and served boudin and beer. They both seemed to really like the boudin, a surprise to me. Evelyn and Pauline looked at many albums of pictures until time for our smoked rock Cornish hen and sweet potato dinner. We all enjoyed the meal and had almost too much to eat. So much that we had to take another turn around the loop. After returning, I started the dishes until Evelyn got the cards ready for our game of hand and foot. Pauline and Evelyn took over and finished the dishes after looking at more albums. I had talked them into making a visit to see Stacy. As a surprise, I learned Miz has a step sister living in Dallas, another town close to Atlanta. We called Stacy who was very excited at the news. We finished our game about 10 and retired. We will get up at 7ish for breakfast casserole and they will be on their way. I tried to talk them into staying another day several times without success.
