Friday night dance

Friday is hospital day. It was also the day to pay our homeowner’s insurance, using the money that we received for roof repair. I also went to get the donated prizes from Holiday Liquors but couldn’t get them until the afternoon. I hooked up both golf carts to the chargers after taking decorations to the hall. Tonight is Mexican Fiesta dance night. We did our time at the hospital, and I was able to find a woman to help me burn the CD of our pictures to send to Tom and Luann. He will make a great CD of both theirs and our pictures, putting music and captions to them. We rested for about 20 minutes and then went to the hall to decorate using the items I had taken there earlier in the day. The couple we work with had already done most of the work. We helped prepare the sodas and popcorn and ice for sale at the dances. We were disappointed in the crowd, especially after I had pushed the dance at the Monday meeting. We did, however, have more people from our park than at the previous dance. The crowd was smaller because the group that follows Lyle Beaver, the band leader, was smaller. We gave away many door prizes, but I was disappointed that the man presenting them didn’t really emphasize the generosity of the businesses we had got them from. I should have insisted on doing the announcing myself. I will be very reluctant to solicit prizes in the future. We have to walk for a charity tomorrow.
