Canton's Relay for Life
We slept a bit late and skipped breakfast because we were going to eat lunch at the hospital at 11:30. I dumped my juno email while Evelyn got ready. We worked on the 6th floor OPS unit until about 3:30. There were few patients left so we came home. I watched the sorry Cubs play Pittsburg while Evelyn fixed supper that we ate when we returned from the Relay for Life in Canton. We arrived there about 6, gathered with the hospital team and waited until 6:30 to walk. I was upset that the hospital team lured us down to their spot even though Evelyn is a survivor. The survivors always walk the first lap. She missed more than half of it until I made her join in when the color guard got around to us. I stayed and walked with the team. During the hour we were there it rained off and on 3 times. We left and came home to eat. Afterward, we watched “How to lose a Guy in Ten Days” while I shelled the small peanuts we had bought to take the ball game last night. They were only good for chopping which I did. I also called Phil Bollinger to ask if he needed help with this garden tomorrow morning. He had already had it done despite having lifting restrictions due to his surgery 5 weeks ago. I then called Dallas and Karen to make arrangements for Monday’s ball game when we planned to meet. They did not answer the phone so I left a message. Perhaps they will call tomorrow.
