clean carpet

We couldn’t sleep late Wednesday because we were having our carpet cleaned. The men came just before 9 and did a very thorough job. Of course we had to leave after they were finished because the carpet was wet. We also had to wear house slippers in the house and other shoes outdoors. Evelyn was able to work in the kitchen for a short while before we went to the lake to walk. We enjoyed an almost perfect day again. The breeze cools us for more than half the 2 ½ miles. We returned for lunch, and I got golf fever. I went next door to Marty’s and got her to play with me. Evelyn went off to get a pedicure so she had taken the car. Marty drove and we rented a cart. She is taking antibiotics and can’t walk the course. We played 9 holes and then she went home with a sinus headache. I played on after asking Marty to tell Evelyn that I would need a ride around 6. I had played fairly well with Marty but reverted to my normal style. I was hurrying so I would be finished by 6. Marty and I had played the back 9, so I played the front. By hole 4 I was in a stack. I caught the man ahead of my on hole 6 and we finished together. He was Don Ebaugh, director of the grounds at Lake Junaluska. He was very gracious and offered to take me home when we finished early. But just as we loaded my clubs, Evelyn came early. We came home and went to choir practice. We weren’t there long because they are beginning to work on Christmas music. We came home and watched TV until late.
