Dreary weather, warm friends
We arose to a cold, misty morning. We skipped showers to conserve water and went for a walk in the cloud. The living room slide had crept in overnight so we brought it on in so it wouldn’t leak onto the floor. HWH called with some ideas to try before replacing everything. The two things did not work. I went to a local motel to use the wifi because I had not been able to deal with e-mail. I had 130 messages to go through. I returned around lunch time, and we had a small salad and chicken wings leftover from Saturday evening. We then went to the discount grocery looking for some deodorant without aluminum chloride. We bought nearly $60 worth of items. We don’t do well with controlled shopping. We went to Ned’s to return the cooler we had borrowed and visit. Evelyn gets stir crazy when she is stuck here in the motor home while being repaired. We came back and the technicians had received two more “solutions” from HWH. One of them actually worked: the slide stayed out without creeping in. The technicians had little to do today so one was assigned to help me set up the Dish Network box I had brought. He made some progress but will have to work on it again tomorrow. We walked to the regular grocery looking for a rebate form and once again bought other things. We came back for dinner of chili left from Saturday. We watched some of the football game and then went to bed to rest for tomorrow. While watching, Ray called from Kansas. They had just returned from Branson where they were attending a going away party for former Stonecroft volunteers. We have volunteered there three times but received no invitation unless I dumped the e-mail by mistake. Almost immediately after that Janice called for Evelyn. We always enjoy calls from our winter friends.
