Fun with family and friends
We were surprised that it was 10 until 9 when we looked at the clock. We rushed to get ready to leave to meet Barry and Jackie at Shoney’s for brunch. I did not shower but did wash my hair and shave. We enjoyed the brunch and then hooked to car and left for Roswell. We arrived around 2:30 and iced cupcakes and cut up vegetables. We went to Mama Fu’s for dinner around 4:30. We shared a garlic chicken salad and then went back to take a nap before the birthday/Halloween party. We had a great time. Peter played the drums for the Crocodile Rock number they had rehearsed. There was a Karaoke system set up and Stacy sang with many of the guests but not me. Evelyn had wanted Stacy and me to sing a song together, but I was never asked and I did not want to assert myself because it was not my party. I offered to play the drums once after Peter had departed but was not welcomed into the event at that level either. I was disappointed but not bitter or shunned. It was a party for the younger people, and we were blessed just to be there. We will always hold it as a fond memory that we were even welcomed. It is always a joy just to hear Tom play and Stacy sing. They are truly a gift to each other. We all sang happy birthday to Tom. I am much more comfortable attending a birthday party than a Halloween party even though we did wear the wonderful costumes Evelyn had made. We stayed up later than we should have and went to bed around midnight looking forward to going to worship with them tomorrow. We still don’t know when we will leave. Perhaps Evelyn will receive an “oracle” tomorrow or tonight during her sleep.
