figuring income taxes

Sunday was the last big attendance at our service. We had 43 but many are leaving this week to return north. I enjoyed preaching God’s Word to them and will miss them. We were also blessed with Holy Communion. Afterward we talked with a Canadian widow lady from the park next door, planning to go to the grocery and then pick her up to go to a Chinese buffet for lunch. When we got to her home, she had prepared a lunch for us. I knew she wanted to take us to lunch, and this was even better because it avoided an argument about who should pay. We stayed until 1 and returned home. It was a blessing from God because the man who had promised to help me with the tax return came at 1:30. Evelyn went for a nap, and we worked on the TaxAct website. He really helped me a lot because he could read some of the papers I had received concerning income. We finished and will file shortly. We will receive a refund. After he left, a man came to look at the golf cart but was not interested in buying. He had come a long way to see it. Evelyn worked outside with some of the plants and inside cleaning some of the couches. I made popcorn for our supper and then we took a walk. The evening was breezy and very pleasant. We returned home and she watched the final DVD in the evening Bible study series. I have to work on next week’s message early because the visitors will arrive Wednesday and take much of our time.
