Weedy times

Saturday was another bright, beautiful day. We went off to walk, but didn’t get far. We made the mistake of going into the hall where the Kitchen band was going to practice and we had talked about joining because they go to nursing homes to perform. We continued to take a short walk and came back to practice for an hour. We came home and worked a while before lunch. We finished up the delicious leftovers from last night. Then I went outside and pulled most of the weeds from in back of our unit. The grass and other weeds were more than 30 inches high. It was hard to pull them but easier after watering the earth around them. I did watch some football games as I came in and out of the house. Evelyn wanted to take a bike ride, so we rode around our park before returning for a light dinner. I watched some of the Notre Dame/USC game and went back and forth between that and Desperate Crossing, the story of the pilgrim’s coming to America that I had taped a couple of days ago. I wanted to stay awake until the Purdue/Hawaii football came on at 10. I thought it was being televised but was wrong. I decided to watch the game tracker on the internet and did until halftime when Purdue was behind 17-0. I can spend my time better by sleeping.
