party hearty

Friday I arose and went to Mercedes to see if I could trade my 30 weight Coastal motor oil for some 5-20 to use in our Saturn. The people of Auto Zone were gracious and made the trade. I bought an oil filter and went to my friend George’s to do my work. He has a pit in his barn floor and lets me use it for my cars. He was there and I changed it without incident. I went to the HEB and bought some groceries we need for our dish at the Thanksgiving dinner. I also bought one of their “meal deals”. This week featured a buy a smoked turkey and get bread, creamed spinach, sausage, 12 sodas, 4 oz of coffee and a quart of ice cream. I brought them home and began working on the screened porch. I found Evelyn working in the back yard, removing many weeds. She stopped and began making lunch and went on to clean many items on the porch. We took a nap and showered to go to our neighbor’s for a pad party. They served many hors doerves and then a marvelous seafood dish that contained shrimp, lobster and cream cheese. It was served on a half shell with a potato crust around the outside. We had a great time and were home by 7 and watched “Bull Durham” on the TV. It is a baseball movie we had seen several years ago. Evelyn didn’t remember ever having seen it.
