A great banquet
Thursday I stayed in bed later while Evelyn exercised. We ate some oatmeal again. We went with the kitchen band to the Weslaco Rehab center. We play goofy instruments and sing old favorites. We pass out maracas to the residents and many of them have a great time shaking along. We get a real blessing from entertaining them. We returned home and had lunch before taking a rest break. At 1:15 the Fremont’s picked us up, and we went to the Encore games banquet. It was the best one ever. The band began to play at 2:00 until 4:00. Many people came in at various times, but those of us who enjoy dancing did for two hours. At 4 a brisket sandwich was served with potato salad and Cole slaw. It was very good and well organized. After we ate was the awards program for the winners of the games, but we left because none of the people we were with had won anything. We returned home in time for me to get to bed before the ladies in Evelyn’s Bible study arrived. They were here until 9, and I was able to sleep some. I got up, cleared the e-mail and went back to bed when the news was over.
