Hot and tired.

Wednesday we went to the local farmer’s market to get some green beans and squash. We also went to the grocery outlet for some cereal and meat. We had not intended to buy as much as we did. We then went to the Open Door to serve until 1. Before we left, I noticed the cooks throwing away some of the chicken and rice entree. It was delicious so I asked that they put some into a container and took it with me. We drove to the golf course where Evelyn left me to meet Shirley and the Duceys. We had carts and played 18 holes. One of the many things I will never understand about this game is that despite having many good shots and putts, I didn’t even break 100. Oh, well! It was hot today and Evelyn was blessed to be in the A/C all day. She came to get me and we drove to Maggie Valley to have dinner with the Casterlines and Duceys at Snappy’s Italian restaurant. We had a coupon for $7 and split a lasagna meal. We had to hurry home because the Bollingers were coming to pick up the badminton and croquette sets they had lent us for the kids to use while here. They also enjoyed some pie Evelyn had made while I was playing golf. They told many stories, including many they had told us at least 1 time before. They even told one of the same stories twice this evening. The wonders of getting old. They left after 10. We were both tired.
