The trip home

We were up and on the road by 8:30. There were no refrigerators in the rooms so the manager allowed us to put our sandwiches in theirs and our ice packs in the freezer. We gathered them up, set the GPS and drove west before going north. We essentially traveled back up the same route we came down on. By noon we were in Madison where we found a very nice park and ate the sandwiches. Evelyn had bought some chips too so we had them as an adjunct. We also ate the banana muffins we had brought from the motel breakfast. We tried to gas up before leaving GA because it is so much cheaper: $2.22--2.39. $2.49 in NC. We were home shortly after 5 even though we stopped for milk and KFC chicken sandwiches for our supper. We unloaded things and began planning for the next trip in early October. We went to bed early again. We really like living in the mountains. As we drove north, we marveled at their beauty as we traveled.
