Decorating for Christmas

Monday we went the town meeting and tried to listen to the announcements. The sound system is poor and matched with my hearing loss made my understanding almost nill. We came home and continued decorating our home for Christmas. We hung some items and put up the outdoor Nativity scene and the Christmas tree. We decorated some of it but have more to do. We rode our bikes up to a UPS store so I could mail some Steve Brown tapes to my Christian friend from high school, Bill Silvers. We were both captured by Christ at a Cursillo in different cities. We had a good visit at our 50th class reunion in June. After lunch, more decorating and then dinner. We have been eating less but not likely enough to lose weight. We are both overweight. We spent the evening watching Me, Myself, and Irene, a semi funny movie starring Jim Carey. What a limber fellow.

Tuesday was a morning of some work but mostly getting pictures taken for the upcoming park picture directory. Before that Evelyn talked with her brother about a family tragedy that happened in September. We posed for our picture at 10:15 and ordered a book for $16.23. We don’t need any more pictures of ourselves and neither does any member of our family. We left there and went to the Tuesday Bible study. We were late but had a good study anyway on the parables in Luke 14. We came home and finished preparation for the lunch of sausage and boudin sandwiches. An elderly couple from Immanuel likes boudin and so we wanted to share some of what we brought from Louisiana. We enjoyed our visit with them the day after his 87th birthday. We rode to our oncologist’s office to make another appointment for Evelyn. We were sure we had missed an appointment and were right. We made another for December 11 and then went to Knapp hospital to schedule our volunteer work. We will go to serve this Friday morning but will likely serve on Friday afternoons. We came home and worked a bit more before we rode around the park with the bike club. We came home and had popcorn while watching DVDs of old television shows and a grade D western.
