Finish to a busy week
Sunday we were off to sing praises to our Lord in the choir. We had originally thought many of the choir would be gone but only 2. We had a retired pastor filling in for our pastor on vacation. He served Holy Communion. We had planned to have some of the leftover ribs for lunch and invited our friend widower, Phil, to join us. He was scheduled to work at the Folkmoot performance as Stuart Auditorium too. We were to be there at 12:45 but didn’t make it. There was nothing going on until about 1:30 anyway. We stayed for the first half of the performances but came home so Evelyn could rest. We were scheduled to pick up a widow lady and take her to the monthly band concert at Maggie Valley. We came home by 4 and had to get her at 6. We thought we would be early but there were hardly any seats left. We usually take lawn chairs but hadn’t this time. We did find seats but would have been cooler outside. I had made popcorn to go with the sodas we had taken so that was our supper. We enjoyed the concert and saw Paul and Shirley there with their 17 year old grandson Forrest. He plays the flute and did a little narration for one number. It was over shortly before 8 and we returned Frances to her home. We took our normal route home through Lake Junaluska, and Evelyn decided she should walk some so she could sleep better. We did that and came on home. We ate a dish of ice cream and did some packing for Wednesday’s trip to Lexington. While at the concert I made a plan to play golf with Shirley Tuesday after 3. We also will go out to dinner with them afterward because it will be around 7 when we finish golf. We will try to go to a restaurant where we have a discount coupon.
