a golfer's fowl friends
Thursday Evelyn led a Bible study at church at 10, so I had her take me to the golf course. I got my cart and began playing my 18. I hit some very good shots on the first round but they were offset by some bad ones. I did play much better than yesterday but was alone. I didn’t start as well on the second round but birdied one hole and eagled another. Of course this didn’t mean I had a great score but those holes felt good. Evelyn picked me up at 1:30 and we came home to enjoy some lunch. Afterward we snipped beans (which she later burned in the pan) and napped. The heat takes my strength. She had a marvelous Bible study. She is a devoted leader and is blessed by her efforts. We went to the Folkmoot USA gala in Maggie Valley and had a very good time watching the performers. We were able to go to a party with the dance troupes afterward and had a good time watching them dance with people from other countries and the locals. I am always sad to think we can't get any of our friends to come to visit during this time of the year. We had paid $100 for the opportunity to go. We came home late. We have an impossibly full day scheduled for tomorrow.
