Work and music

Wednesday found us working more. Will we ever finish the outdoor decorations? Evelyn went to exercise and I got on the ladder to hang the outdoor lights. After they were hung, we noticed only about 1/3 of the lights worked. I also added a string of colored lights around our door garland because half of those lights didn’t work either. That is until I added the new string of lights. Then they worked. Evelyn came home and learned her appointment for a permanent had been moved up to 10:30, so we ate an early lunch and off she went. I decided it was not too hot to cut the grass, so I went to the neighbor’s to get the weed eater. We made a deal years ago that I could use his mower and weed eater. I put gas in it and did the necessary work with it. I then put gas into the mower and mowed what was left. I then took a shower. Evelyn came home and said that one of the neighbor’s had a problem and could not go to a concert in a series that they had bought season tickets for. They gave them to us. We dressed and went to one of the other two couple’s so we could ride together with them. They had decided to go to the I-Hop restaurant in Harlingen where the concert was to be held. We had dinner and went to the concert center and heard the Jimmy Dorsey band. It was a good concert, featuring all big band music from the 30’s,40’s and early 50‘s. We saw some Canadian friends there that had promised to invite us over sometime. This was two years ago. They gave us one of the “come over sometime” invitations. We really enjoyed the concert and the company we were with. I came home to watch the Purdue/Virginia basketball game I had taped. I got the entire game except the final 20 seconds. The game was tied but Purdue had the ball when the tape stopped! I had to watch some other sports news to get the score. What a frustrating hoot. Went to bed late.
